Apprenticeships
Completing an apprenticeship with Bakers Delight involves more than just going to school or training. Our apprentices are hands on from day one. You will learn the art and science of baking through sponsored training at school (or in the bakery), through one-on-one coaching and support from the baking team members and through practice, practice, practice. A baking apprenticeship is typically three years full-time and is a nationally recognised qualification.
As you master the skills of baking great quality freshly bread you’ll be able to take on more and more responsibility in the bakery. But learning new skills and being challenged to improve and achieve your goals does not end here, see our talent pathway for more details.
What else do you need to know?
Hours
Baking staff start work between midnight and 4am, and finish their shifts between 8am and midday. Early starts, means early finishes – this just takes a bit of getting used to.
Transport
You’ll need your own transport to get to work during these hours; if you haven’t got your driver’s licence we recommend you talk to your parents about getting a lift during the recruitment process until you know more about the flexibility of hours available.
Training
Your apprenticeship is paid for by your employer and you may be eligible to receive a government payment for trade tools.
Support
You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship by the bakery manager or franchisee, other managers within the bakery and the team.
