Hi-Fibre Lo-GI Lunch Box Roll Hamburger

Left over burger patties? Whip up a quick lunch the whole family can enjoy. This recipe even has 76% of the daily requirement of iron for the littlies (aged 1-3 years)!

400g ground beef
1 egg
3/4 tspn salt
3/4 tspn freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Burger

2 Bakers Delight Hi-Fibre Lo-GI Lunch Box Rolls
2 small pre-prepared hamburger patties
4-6 slices tomatoes
½ cucumber, sliced
2 slices cheddar cheese
2 tb tomato sauce
2/3 cup grated carrot
Handful of shredded lettuce
Olive oil for cooking Pepper

Method

  1. Patties

    1. Step 1

      If you want to make the patties from scratch: in a bowl, using your hands, combine all of the ingredients until evenly incorporated. Form into 2 equal sized burgers

  2. Burger

      Heat oil in a skillet pan over medium heat. Cook the hamburger patties until they are cooked through

    2. Step 2

      Cut the roll in half, without quite going all the way through so the halves are still attached

    3. Step 3

      Layer the salad veggies, hamburger patty, cheese and sauce in each roll. Close the rolls and wrap or pop into reusable containers
