Reuben Toastie
This savoury favourite is sure to satisfy those lunchtime cravings, served best upon our Authentic Sourdough Vienna!
Ingredients
Toastie
4 slices Sourdough Vienna
200g Pastrami
1/2 cup sauerkraut
2 slices Swiss cheese
Spray oil
Russian Dressing
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
2 tbsp finely chopped red onion
2 tsp grated horseradish
Gherkins (to serve)
Method
STEP 1
Heat up a sandwich press until green light comes on.
STEP 2
To make the Russian dressing, combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir thoroughly.
STEP 3
On each of the bottom slices of bread, spread about 1-2 tablespoons evenly to cover the bread. Divide the pastrami between the two slices.
STEP 4
Top with sauerkraut and add a slice of cheese to each sandwich. Top with the top halves of the bread.
STEP 5
Spray the sandwich press with spray oil, and place the sandwich in the sandwich press for 3-5 minutes, until lightly brown.
STEP 6
Allow to sandwich to cool slightly, and serve with gherkins and extra.
